MEATBIRD PROCESSING WORKSHOPS

for ADULTS, TEENS & KIDS 

(Workshop is FREE with Limited Enrollment of 10 Participants)


 The Ecological Agriculture Training Cultural Center & Farm, in partnership with the Cities of Norco and Riverside, welcomes you to the Farm and Garden Workshops Series!

About this Workshop:
EAT! is proud to partner with Shady Acre Farm for this Hands-On Workshop. The Meat Bird Processing Workshop is a Fully-Immersive Experience designed to provide participants with the opportunity to explore & implement the knowledge and skillset needed to successfully navigate the meatbird processing journey from clucking-to-cooking. 


IMPORTANT 

  • This workshop is open to ALL AGES!
  • Participants Under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by a participating adult


This Workshop will cover the following:

  • Meat Bird Anatomy
  • Tools & Equipment needed for home processing
  • Setup & Sanitation of your poultry processing area
  • Humane Practices / Hygiene / Safety
  • Knife Skills
  • Hands-on meat bird processing practice 

 

Supplies & Materials Included with this Workshop:

  • Instructional Handouts
  • Usage of Workshop Knives/Tools/Etc.
  • 1 Live Chicken--Humanely Raised by Shady Acre Farm (To be processed by you during the workshop & taken home to cook and enjoy!)
  • 1 Apron
